We are deeply saddened to report the passing of actor Evan Ellingson, known for his roles in CSI: Miami and the film My Sister’s Keeper. Evan passed away at the age of 35, leaving fans across the world heartbroken.
According to the San Bernardino coroner’s office records obtained by E! News, Evan was found deceased in his residence in Fontana, California on November 5. The cause of death has yet to be determined, but the actor’s family has spoken about his long battle with addiction. Evan’s father, in an interview with TMZ, shared that his son passed away in a sober-living home.
“Our family is shattered by the sudden loss of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, Evan,” the family expressed in a statement to NBC News. “Evan was an incredibly compassionate person who cherished his faith in Jesus. He had a warm, childlike spirit with a smile that could light up any room. He always put others first and wanted to use his own struggles with addiction to inspire hope in others.” 
The family further revealed that Evan had been three years sober but had experienced a recent relapse after being prescribed opioids following a dental procedure.
Although Evan gained recognition with his roles in CSI: Miami and My Sister’s Keeper, his journey in Hollywood began with a small TV movie role and a guest appearance on General Hospital. He then went on to star in popular shows like ‘Titus,’ ‘That Was Then,’ ‘Mad TV,’ ‘Complete Savages,’ ‘Bones,’ and ’24’. However, tragically, he had not appeared on-screen for the past decade before his untimely passing. 
Abigail Breslin, his former co-star, paid a heartfelt tribute to Evan, describing him as a kind, funny, and extremely talented human being. She fondly remembered their time working together on the film My Sister’s Keeper and expressed how some of Evan’s scenes in the movie still give her chills. She also recalled his playful, energetic personality and his love for pranks and Red Bull.
Evan Ellingson will be deeply missed by his fans, colleagues, and loved ones. May he rest in peace.
