Barbara’s television career kicked off with The Johnny Carson Show in 1955 and continued with a multitude of series and movies. In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, she happily shared, “It’s like any other birthday, I’m just happy to be here. I really don’t think about it. Everybody else does, but I never have. I’m looking forward to going back to work.”
Barbara is still actively working and has no plans of retiring anytime soon. Even during the shutdown in 2020, she was continuing her work. “I was working up until the shutdown point last March,” she revealed to the Hollywood Reporter.
Reflecting on her career, Barbara expressed her gratitude for being a part of the showbiz world. “I’m very happy that I lived during that time,” she emphasized. “I’m happy that I had my beginnings then, but things change. What a wonderful time now, more actors are working than ever before with all of the companies like Netflix and Amazon, all of these movies and TV shows they are producing.”
“I feel young!” Barbara joyfully shared with Page 6. She considers herself lucky to have a job she enjoys and sympathizes with those who didn’t have that opportunity. “I feel sorry for people like my poor father who had to work every day at something he didn’t like. I enjoy my work. I still work.”
While maintaining her youthful spirit, Barbara had been an avid gym-goer, attending spin classes and lifting weights until a few years ago. Nowadays, she works with a trainer at her home to keep herself active and fit.
Apart from her professional life, Barbara also cherishes her vibrant social life. “I have a lot of friends,” she revealed, emphasizing her active social engagements.
