Every year, the town of Palenque, Mexico sets up a beautiful and traditional Nativity scene in its main plaza. This year, the scene became even more special when a stray dog sought refuge there and gave birth to seven adorable puppies. Just like Mary sought shelter in a stable during the birth of Jesus, this street dog found solace among the figurines and straw.

The local journalist, Eric Guzmán, stumbled upon this heartwarming sight when he noticed the pregnant dog curled up in the nativity scene. He was both shocked and delighted to find out that she had given birth to a litter of healthy puppies.

Despite the December cold, the puppies were warm and safe in their Christmas manger. The community of Palenque rallied together to visit the miraculous family, bringing food and support.

Not only did the townspeople show their love and care for the dog and her puppies, but local officials also stepped in and allowed them to stay in the plaza for as long as they needed.

Recognizing the importance of providing a safe and loving environment for these animals, the organization Dejando Huellitas SOS Palenque has taken over their care and is working hard to find them permanent homes.

The birth of these puppies in the nativity scene has touched the hearts of many, including Eric Guzmán, who hopes that this heartwarming story will bring awareness to the plight of stray dogs.

Rather than buying dogs from breeders, he encourages people to adopt and love them unconditionally, just like the stray dog who found comfort in the Christmas manger. Let this story inspire us all to be more compassionate and consider adopting a furry friend in need.
